The Nest Bedding 100% Bamboo fabric is made from bamboo rayon pulp fiber, a regenerated cellulose fiber. Bamboo plants need to be smashed to make pulp; after that, the pulp is dissolved into a viscose state and then made into fiber by a wet spinning method. Fabric made from Bamboo pulp fiber is soft-to-the-touch, comfortable, moisture-wicking, and breathable. With all of these superior qualities, bamboo pulp fiber is a bedding material favored by many.
Common viscose fiber is made using wood or cotton raw materials. When considering the lengthy 20-30 years growth period of a tree and the amount of watering, land needed, and deforestation that comes with it, bamboo fiber is a sustainable alternative. Our bamboo fiber is made of pulp from Bamboo shoots, which naturally grow in gullies and mountains. Without the need for flat farming land, fertilizing, or watering, Bamboo reaches its full growth in just 2-3 years, making it the fastest-growing grass on the planet. When cutting the Bamboo used for our Nest Bedding Bamboo fiber products, intermediate cutting is adopted, which makes bamboo forests grow more sustainably, ultimately making Bamboo an incredibly sustainable resource for bedding materials.
