The revolution begins
Freedom from oppression, freedom from commercialism, freedom of choice.
There is another revolution at hand, here in America. Consumers are no longer
willing to trade convenience for their health. People are taking control of their
food choices, transportation choices, medical practices and medicines. Around
the country, people are making healthier, eco-friendly choices, and veering away
from things that are polluting the planet, wasting resources, poisoning our planet
and bodies, all in the name of profit and convenience.
Today, I declare, the start of a revolution in the bedroom, the most toxic relic
of this era of pollution, of toxins, of waste: The mattress.
What is wrong with the mattress?
-You cant see what is in them.
-You don't know what is in them.
-You don't know where it came from.
-They are expensive.
-They don't last.
-They get ruined easily with no way to repair or clean them.
-They quickly end up in landfills, where they never decompose.
-They use petroleums, or latex, which is expensive and not eco friendly.
-They are sold like used cars.
-You have to buy a new one every few years.
Mattresses are a relic of the past, one of the last few remaining examples
of an era when we as a society traded our health for convenience, trusted
commercialism and profit making companies to take care of us. Now its time
to wrestle control back. We have seen the revolution in our foods choices. We have
seen the revolution in our transportation options. We have seen it with our choices
of fuels, the water we drink, the medicine we take. Now, its time to regain our
bedrooms, our homes, our sanctuary. It's time to say no to the toxic, chemical, wasteful,
expensive and non-eco friendly mattress business and start building our own "nests" from
safe, clean, healthy, eco-responsible materials.
More to come....
